Funding & Fees

There are several ways to access services at Stronger Path. The options available will depend on the service you are accessing and your individual circumstances. We know funding, referrals and rebates can sometimes be confusing. The information below is designed to make your options easier to understand. Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)

DVA Veteran Cards (Gold and White) are accepted as payment upon a GP referral

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Use eligible NDIS funding for supports related to your disability needs and goals.

My Aged Care

Eligible aged care funding may be used for Exercise Physiology or Psychology where approved as part of your supports.

Medicare

Medicare rebates may be available for eligible Exercise Physiology and Psychology referrals.

Private & Private Health

Book privately, with private health rebates potentially available depending on your insurer and level of cover.

DVA

Stronger Path welcomes members of the veteran community seeking individualised exercise physiology or psychological support.

DVA Veteran Cards (Gold and White) are accepted as payment upon a GP referral.

The services you can access will depend on your Veteran Card eligibility and referral. If you’re unsure what you need before booking, please get in touch and we can help you understand the referral process.

  • GP referral using D0904/D904 form and;

  • White Card with specific conditions or;

  • Gold Card (with or without TPI status)

NDIS

Stronger Path works with NDIS participants who want practical, individualised support that fits their needs, preferences and everyday life.

Where Exercise Physiology or Psychology is relevant to your disability-related needs and NDIS goals, eligible funding may be used to access these services.

We can currently work with self-managed participants and plan-managed participants

Exercise Physiology
Exercise Physiology can support goals related to physical capacity, strength, mobility, balance, confidence with movement, participation in everyday activities, emotional and sensory regulation, executive functioning, and managing the physical impacts of disability or health conditions.

Session length: 30, 45, or 60 minutes, depending on individual needs and goals.

Psychology
Psychology can support goals related to emotional regulation, coping, communication, relationships, self-understanding, neurodivergence, adapting to disability, and building strategies for everyday functioning and participation.

Session length: 60 minutes.

NDIS services are charged in line with the applicable NDIS pricing arrangements. Additional charges may apply for travel, reports, liaison or other non-face-to-face supports where required. Any additional costs will be discussed with you beforehand.

My Aged Care

Eligible older Australians may be able to access Exercise Physiology or Psychology through their aged care funding where allied health support has been identified as part of their assessed needs.

This may include services arranged through Support at Home or another eligible aged care program or provider.

If you already have an aged care provider or care coordinator, they can contact Stronger Path to discuss whether our services can be included as part of your supports.

If you’re unsure whether Exercise Physiology or Psychology is available through your aged care funding, we recommend speaking with your provider, care coordinator or My Aged Care.

Medicare

Exercise Physiology

Eligible clients may be referred for Exercise Physiology under a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan.

At Stronger Path, eligible Exercise Physiology appointments under this pathway are currently bulk billed, meaning there is no out-of-pocket cost for the consultation when the Medicare requirements are met.

Eligible clients can access up to 5 individual allied health services per calendar year.

Session length: 30 minutes

Psychology

Eligible clients may be able to access Medicare rebates for Psychology with an appropriate referral, such as a Mental Health Treatment Plan.

Under the Better Access initiative, eligible clients can access Medicare rebates for up to 10 individual psychology sessions per year. The initial referral is generally for up to 6 sessions, with further sessions available following review by the referring practitioner, up to the annual limit of 10.

Session length: 50 minutes

Private fee: $235

Medicare rebate: $101.55

Estimated gap: $133.48

  • Psychology: Mental Health Treatment Plan + Referral from your GP

Private & Private Health

You do not need to have government or disability funding to access Stronger Path. Both Exercise Physiology and Psychology can be booked privately.

A referral is not required for private appointments.

Private health rebates may also be available for some services depending on your insurer and level of cover. As rebates vary between policies, we recommend checking directly with your private health fund.

Exercise Physiology

Initial assessment (45 minutes): $112.50
Standard session (30 minutes): $75

Longer session (45-60 minutes): $112.50-150
Hydrotherapy (30 minutes): $75

Psychology

Standard session (50 minutes): $240

Other Fee Information

Gym & Pool Access

When your Exercise Physiology appointment takes place at the gym or pool, Stronger Path covers the cost of your gym entry or pool pass for that session. There is no additional facility entry fee for you to pay.

Cancellations

Late cancellation (within 24 hours) or missed appointment fees may apply in accordance with our cancellation policy and the requirements of your funding arrangement.

Travel & Community

Travel charges may apply for home or community-based appointments depending on your location, service and funding arrangement. Any applicable charges will be discussed with you beforehand.

Reports & Liaison

Fees may apply for reports, letters, liaison with other providers and other work completed outside your appointment. We’ll discuss any additional costs with you before completing the work.
